Primadulcine®: the spring of your skin

Now part of the Sweetch portfolio, Primadulcine reflects the shared vision of Sweetch and Greenpharma: combining nature, science, and innovation to support skin health in a gentle and sustainable way.

Derived from primrose (Primula veris), the symbol of spring, Primadulcine® is a COSMOS Approved active ingredient developed using Greenpharma’s in silico platform GAINS/SELNERGY. This aqueous extract, obtained from locally sourced plants from the Loire River area, is rich in 3-O-triglycosylated flavonoids.

Primadulcine® is designed to reduce the detrimental effects of chronic stress on the skin, such as loss of thickness and elasticity. It directly targets the enzyme 11β- hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 (HSD1), responsible for cortisol synthesis, helping to limit stress-induced skin ageing at its source.

Ex vivo studies show that Primadulcine® increases hyaluronic acid synthesis by 47%, collagen III synthesis by 73%, and restores elastin synthesis by 74% after 6 days.

In vivo, at 1%, it significantly reduces wrinkle depth by 10.6%, improves skin wrinkledness in 70% of volunteers, and 85% of participants reported an overall improvement in skin appearance.

Primadulcine® at 1% visibly decreases the wrinkle severeness and ameliorates the general skin appearance (less red, younger and healthier) after 28 days.

By integrating Greenpharma’s expertise into the Sweetch ingredient portfolio, Primadulcine® perfectly illustrates Sweetch’s commitment to offering high- performance, bio-inspired actives that respect the skin ecosystem, especially for sensitive and stress-prone skin.

Meet Sweetch at in-cosmetics Global 2026, Stand 3N80, to discover Primadulcine® and the expanded Sweetch portfolio.

Greenpharma will also be exhibiting at Stand 2M40A, where visitors can learn more about the scientific development behind their innovative actives.
