BYK expands distribution agreement with Krahn Chemie in Poland

German speciality ingredients maker BYK has granted new distribution rights for Poland to compatriot Krahn Chemie.

With this agreement, the Hamburg-based distributor will supply BYK additives for personal care in the Polish market.

The new additives offer potential applications in various fields, for example skin cleansing, colour cosmetics, hair care, antiperspirants, sun care, and meet the key requirements of personal care manufacturers focused on innovative solutions.

The expanded offering of Krahn Chemie in Poland includes organically modified phyllosilicates as well as natural and synthetic phyllosilicates, designed to stabilize particles and active ingredients in formulations.

They also optimize rheological behaviour, improve overall formulation stability, provide absorption and mattifying effects, enhance binding properties and contribute to a smooth as well as pleasant skin feel.

“Last year, we opened a new laboratory in Poland dedicated to the cleaning and cosmetics industries, laying the foundation for further growth in these application areas,” said Magdalena Chudziak, managing director of Krahn Chemie Polska.

“We are pleased to expand our long-standing partnership with BYK, one of the leading experts in additives, into a new application segment now,” she added.

“By combining BYK’s extensive know-how and premium product portfolio with our strong local market expertise and technical services, we aim to create tangible added value for our customers in the personal care market.”
