Vivimed Sunscreen Gel Formulation (Formula Ref: 3-017-05)

Vivimed Labs Ltd

This light gel cream contains a synergistic combination of oil-soluble and water-soluble Vivimed UV filters to deliver an estimated* SPF of 15 with broad spectrum protection. Also included are Menthyl Lactate, which has a pleasant cooling effect on the skin, and the preservative blend Vivisept CVT, which provides proven antimicrobial efficacy.

Preparation:

  1.  Sprinkle Carbopol Ultrez-20 onto the surface of warm deionised water (40-50  ̊C).
      Allow to wet out, then begin moderate stirring to disperse.
    
  2.  When uniform, add other part A ingredients with stirring.
    
  3.  Combine part B ingredients (except Pemulen). Heat with mixing until Avis is dissolved.
    
  4.  Cool part B to 45  ̊C. Add Pemulen with stirring and continue stirring for 30 minutes.
    
  5.  Add B to A with intensive stirring. Continue stirring for 20 minutes.
    
  6.  Pre-mix part C until Ben-4 is dissolved Add C to A/B with stirring.
    
  7.  Pre-mix par D, warming if necessary until a homogeneous molten mixture is obtained.
    
  8.  Add parts E, F and G in sequence with stirring. Continue stirring for 10 minutes.
