Seppic gets fresh with marine ingredient trio data

French cosmetic ingredient maker Seppic has unveiled new efficacy data for three marine actives: Phlorogine, Aspar'Age and Celtosome Eryngium Maritimum.

The in vivo and in vitro data strengthen the evidence for the ingredients’ targeted action on skin mechanisms linked to three major current trends: skin purity, longevity, and aesthetic procedure alternatives.

To address the first trend, which involves seeking healthy and balanced skin, Phlorogine CV, an extract of Laminaria saccharina, has its purifying efficacy confirmed by new in vivo data validating a triple action: sebum level is reduced by 29.3%, visible imperfections decrease by 10.8%, and complexion radiance is revived by +20.3%.

Targeting deep longevity mechanisms to meet ‘well-aging’ expectations, Aspar'Age (Asparagopsis armata) confirms its in vivo action against ‘contagious aging’ by protecting young fibroblasts from the SMS (senescence messaging secretome) emitted by senescent fibroblasts.

At 2%, the active ingredient reduces the length of crow's feet wrinkles by nearly twice as much as the placebo.

Efficacy is visible: the skin appears significantly younger, less tired (77%), and more uniform (68%).

Finally, to meet the growing demand for gentle alternatives to hyaluronic acid injections, the biotechnology-derived ingredient Celtosome Eryngium Maritimum confirms its role as a biotech ‘filler’.

While in vitro tests already demonstrate an increase in hyaluronic acid production of +103% and a strengthening of Collagen I (+28%) and Elastin (+34%), the clinical study reveals a smoothing effect.

After 28 days, wrinkle surface area is reduced by 12%. The active also offers four immediate hydration superior to the placebo.

Acclaimed by consumers, it leaves skin smoother to the touch for 71% of volunteers and provides an improved general appearance for 74% of them.

“The Seppic marine portfolio thus positions itself as a leading solution, offering brands the guarantee of high-performance active ingredients whose efficacy is continually reinforced by scientific data,” said a spokeswoman.
