Preparation:

  1. Charge Phase A (Aqua) into a suitable mixing vessel and begin moderate agitation. Add Polyquaternium-10 and mix until it is completely dispersed and fully hydrated.
  2. Heat the batch to 55 °C and incorporate Phase B in sequence: Cocamidopropyl Betaine, C14-16 Alpha Olefin Sulfonate, Sympare MES 90, and finally PALMOCOL PMMA 1300. Allow each surfactant to fully dissolve before the next addition and mix until a uniform, homogeneous system is obtained.
  3. Stop heating and allow the batch to cool to 40 °C before addition of Phase C.
  4. Slowly add Sympare DuoGlide with constant stirring to ensure good dispersion.
  5. Add the preservative and mix until fully dissolved.
  6. Add fragrance and continue stirring until the formulation is uniform.
  7. Adjust the final pH to 5.5–6.5 using sodium hydroxide or citric acid, then add Phase D to make up to final weight.
  8. Adjust viscosity with Sodium chloride to achieve the desired consistency.

Notes:

  • Sustainable Ingredients offered by KLK OLEO

Sympare MES 90 combined with Cocamidopropyl betaine typically provides good viscosity for a standard shampoo formulation. If further viscosity adjustment is needed, sodium chloride can be added, but no more than 1%. Adding more than 1% wt sodium chloride can lead to long-term instability, causing the shampoo to become cloudy over time.

Appearance: Clear light yellow liquid pH: 5.5 - 6.5 Viscosity (mPas.s): 1000- 3000 cP Brookfield SP63, 25°C, 20 rpm. Stability: Pass 12 weeks at 45 °C and 25°C.
