Preparation:

  1. In the main vessel mix phase A with propeller while heating to 60°C until homogeneous and clear
  2. At 60°C , add phase B into A and mix until homogeneous
  3. At 60°C, add phase C step by step in the main beaker while mixing until evenly dispersed
  4. In a side beaker, homomix phase D until the gel is smooth while heating up to 60°C
  5. At 60°C, add phase E ingredients into phase D one by one and mix well between each addition : phase D+E should be clear
  6. At 60°C, introduce very slowly while homomixing phase D+E into phase A+B+C to create W/O emulsion
  7. Start to cool down the batch
  8. Stop at 25°C.

typical properties description: off-white w/o emulsion pH: n/a, w/o emulsion Viscosity (24h): 25 000 – 40 000 cps (Brookfield RVT | Spindle C | 5 RPM | 1 minute | 25°C) SPF in vitro: 31 water resistance in vitro: 92% This formula has passed 3-month accelerated lab stabilities and a 28-day challenge efficacy test. However, the preservative system has not been optimized to its lowest effective level.
