Preparation:
• Phase A: Add deionized water to main mixing vessel, begin moderate to high speed propeller mixing until vortex is formed (use side sweep if available). • Begin heating batch to 70-80 °C, slowly sprinkle in Bentonite and mix at a minimum of 65 °C for at least of one hour until Bentonite is fully hydrated. • Phase B: In a separate container premix Glycerin with Xanthan Gum, mix well until lump free. • Once Bentonite is fully hydrated, add Phase B mixture to main mixing vessel and mix at 70-80 °C for at least of one hour until Xanthan Gum is fully hydrated. • Phase C: In side mixing vessel add Phase C ingredients, heat to 70-80 °C while mixing. • Once phase C ingredients are completely melted and temperature is 70-80 °C, add phase C to main mixing vessel. • Mix well until emulsion forms, use homogenizer if available. Once emulsion is formed remove heat source and start cooling to room temperature. • Phase D: In separate container dissolve Trimethylsiloxysilicate into UpSyCal(R) BA14. • Once Trimethylsiloxysilicate is completely dissolved disperse Iron Oxide mixture, mix well until lump free. • Add phase D premix to main mixing vessel, continue mixing and cooling. • Slow agitation as needed to avoid aeration. • Phase E: Once batch is below 40 °C add Enhansys(R) CP, continue mixing and cooling until batch reaches room temperature.
