Elkem expands eco-designed silicone portfolio

Elkem has expanded its silicone portfolio with the launch of three new ingredients for personal care: two eco-designed ingredients and a multifunctional emulsifier.

Formulated in a sunflower seed–derived C15-19 alkane, the new grades allow beauty brands to offer sophisticated textures and advanced functional benefits, while helping to improve the environmental profile of cosmetic formulation

Puresil ORG 0415 is a velvety elastomer gel delivering smooth glide, a silky after-feel, long-lasting moisture retention, and a soft-focus effect for skin care and colour cosmetics.

It promotes even coverage and helps structure mineral sunscreens into a uniform film, supporting and enhancing SPF performance.

Meanwhile, Puresil ORG 0515 is an elastomer fluid blend with a distinctive texture and exceptionally high lubricity, offering lustrous gloss, a smooth finish and improved spreadability, while helping create a more even, natural look in makeup and sunscreen formulations.

Its versatility supports use across hair, skin, and sun care, as well as colour cosmetics.

Finally, Puresil ESG 03 is a multifunctional emulsifying elastomer blend designed to efficiently disperse and stabilize pigments and mineral UV filters.

The innovation reduces agglomeration, enhances stability within elastomer gel matrices, and supports uniform distribution with excellent suspension performance.

“Consumers increasingly expect beauty products that deliver both a luxurious sensorial experience and reliable performance, while staying true to their environmental values,” said Feifei Lin, Elkem’s global marketing manager for personal care.

“With these new Puresil solutions, we are equipping formulators with advanced ingredients that unite sensorial excellence, strong technical performance, and meaningful contributions to more sustainable formulations.

“Driving sustainability in beauty remains at the heart of our innovation efforts.”
