The Deluxe Hydrating Facial Crème is a rich, decadent lotion that is easily spreadable and leaves a powdery after-feel on the skin. This formulation contains iconic Croda emollients; Crodamol™ OSU, Crodamol GTEH, and Crodamol GTCC which are light and easy spreading. Supermol™ B is included as a 100% vegan suitable* alternative to lanolin which delivers water retention benefits to help skin feel hydrated and soft. Also vegan-suitable, Natrineo™ CR8 is a PEG-free, 100% bio-based emulsifier included in this formulation to deliver a distinctly light after-feel. This cream contains Crodarom® Banana Flower EC which is derived from a unique flower that contains mucilages, having hydrating and prebiotic virtues that help to protect the skin against external aggressions. Preparation:

  1. In main beaker, combine water and sodium hydroxide and mix using a propeller blade.
  2. Combine glycerin and xanthan gum in a small weighing boat to make a slurry and add to the water.
  3. Heat Part A to 75 ºC while mixing.
  4. In a separate beaker, combine Part B ingredients and heat to 75 ºC.
  5. Once Part A and Part B reach 75ºC, add Part B into Part A while mixing with propeller blade and mix for 10 minutes.
  6. Cool the batch to 60 ºC with a propeller blade. Once the batch cools to 60 ºC, change the propeller blade to a side sweep blade and continue cooling to 40 ºC while mixing.
  7. Add Part C once the batch cools to below 40 ºC and adjust the pH if necessary.

Notes:

Appearance: White cream; pH: 6.301 ± 0.5; Viscosity: 30,000 cP ± 10% (T-C spindle, 10rpm, 1 min). All measurements taken at 24 hours after manufacture. Stability: LUMiSizer Stability Index: 0.003 (4000rpm, 1 hour 15, 25ºC), 0.039 (4000rpm, 1 hour 15, 45ºC)
