The extremely rapid and highly efficient singlet-state-quencher, SolaStay® S1, photostabilizes Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate (Octinoxate) and Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane (Avobenzone). SPF determined in vivo (10 subjects) on closely related J097-8. Critical wavelength = 376 nm

Preparation:

Water phase: Combine A in the main vessel. Add B and mix until totally dissolved. Disperse C and mix until uniform and lump free. Start heating to 70°–75°C and add D. Oil phase: In a separate vessel, combine E and start mixing. Add F and heat to 70°–75°C. Add phase G ingredients in order and continue mixing until uniform and molten. Disperse H and mix until uniform. When both phases are at least 70°C, slowly add the water phase to the oil phase and mix until uniform. Homogenize for 5 minutes. Continue mixing using an overhead stirrer while allowing batch to cool. Add I with mixing. Replace any water lost to evaporation. Mix until smooth and at desired filling temperature. Perform final quality assurance checks and package product.
